Why should the ambitious scuba diver especially decide for a TillyTec light?

The demand and interest in a completely modular, high-quality light system is constantly on the rise and TillyTec lights are high quality lights. The reasons why an ambitious scuba diver should decide particularly for a TillyTec light are many.

Completely modular light system

It is currently the world's only light system with almost unlimited possibilities.
All TillyTec MPL (Modular Power Light System) base components can be combined and / or enhanced. This allows the diver to enter with a basic configuration and develop it further as needed, or complementary to the different needs. For example:

  • Modify the torch to a canister light and vice versa
  • Perform the upgrade to a higher-capacity battery canister
  • Upgrade the battery technology: from older NiMh battery canister to the new LiFe (lithium iron)
  • Upgrade to all available light heads (also for older models)
  • And much more

Free choice of different light heads

The various TillyTec light heads have different characteristics and are therefore suitable for different applications and requirements. Do the demands for the dive light change, no higher investment for a new dive light is needed, instead can the diver simply chose another TillyTec light head. The diver is free to choose whether to upgrade the existing light head to the new model, or just add a second light head. The reasons for the change to a different light head can be varied:

  • Just trying a new light head
  • Longer burn time with the same battery canister (e.g., LED 1500 instead of LED 4500 head)
  • More luminous power (e.g. LED 450 with comparable 175 watt)
  • For special requirements such as video / photo
  • And much more

Flood or spot light

It is possible to change the radiation pattern for almost all light heads. For the LED 1500, LED 1200, LED 850 and LED PRO 4500, there is a plug-milk glass shade (diffuser) available. The light which is produced is thus ideal for macro shots or night dives. Especially for the UW-video applications is the 4500 LED in video available.

Upgrade of the canister and light heads

Needed the diver for any reason more battery power, this is thanks to the MPL system, no problem.
There is an upgrade path from the smallest MPL TT1 (3.2 Ah) to the MPL TT3 (9 Ah) battery canister.
Similarly, a simple upgrade of the light heads can be made. Thus, the PRO lamp head can be converted to a PRO LED 850, LED 1500, LED 1200, LED 3000 and LED 4500. Equally can a LED 900 be upgraded to a LED 1500, LED 1200, LED 3000 and so on. These upgrade options will in future be further developed and expanded. Every canister and light head can be upgraded in the future.
This flexibility is not offered by any other manufacturer!

Open for new battery technology

TillyTec is using only the new Lithium Iron batteries. The advantages are obvious:

  • Extremely fast charge possible (9.0 Ah TT3 in 120 minutes)
  • +> 2000 charging cycles
  • Extreme discharge possible
  • No memory effect
  • Minimal self-discharge (2 years = 80% capacity)
  • No Problems in storage
  • No explosion or sensitivity like on Lithium Ion

Extreme ruggedness and durability!

Any unnecessary gadgets at TillyTec MPL system are in vain. The entire light system is designed for extreme ruggedness and durability. All mechanical and / or electronic sources of error were eliminated, and it was focused on the development only on the essentials: An extremely reliable light system. In other words, everything unnecessarily that can be broken has been omitted:

  • There are no cables or soldering joints
  • There are no switches or reed relays
  • There are no bushings

All lights can be turned on/off by simply turning the light head. An accidental multiple turning doesn’t hurt, since all light heads are sealed with 3-O-rings. This also applies to the cable of the canister light and the front screw connection of the light heads.

World's brightest LED light head!

Anyone who seeks the ultimate LED dive light, will also find the TillyTec MPL system. The LED 4500 (4500 lumens) and the LED 3000 (3000 lumens) are certainly the world's brightest LED light heads.

Even with that extrem perfomance it is possible to achieve 80 minutes of burntime, using the small TT1 canister. That should be plenty for an average leasure dive.

Carriage diving equipment

The current regulations for travel by air plane don’t allow the transport of the dive light in luggage anymore! Normally, this must be carried in the carry-on luggage. The TillyTec system can be carried in dive bags together with the other dive equipment. It has simply to be unscrewed the light head.
